Call for applications: 2024/25 Youth Leadership Training (YLTP) in Zimbabwe

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), Zimbabwe is excited to announce the launch of the 2024/25 Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP)!

About the Program:

This program is designed to develop progressive, knowledgeable, and responsive young leaders who are equipped with the essential skills, knowledge, and values, for their effective contribution in shaping Zimbabwe’s social, economic, and political landscape.

Number of participants: 20 young passionate individuals

Timeline: six-month training program

Format: block-release basis starting in November 2024.

Who should apply?

  • Young adults from political parties, trade unions, and civil society
  • with demonstrable socio-economic and political interest, and abilities to apply.

Eligibility

1. Aged between 20 and 35 years.
2. Demonstrated interest in political, social, and economic issues.
3. Proven motivation, past engagement, dedication to democratic values, and leadership potential.
4. High level of commitment to participate fully in the program throughout its duration.

Young women are strongly encouraged to apply.

A brief write-up answering the following questions:
• What do you consider the biggest challenge currently facing youth in Zimbabwe? (max 250 words)
• How can this challenge be addressed? What are you currently doing to contribute to the solution? (max 250 words)
• If selected, how will the FES Youth Leadership Training Program benefit you and your community? (max 250 words)
