The Changemakers for the Planet 2025 program is now open for applications, offering a unique opportunity for young activists, innovators, and leaders dedicated to addressing the planetary crisis. This global initiative, driven by ChangemakerXchange, is designed to support, connect, and amplify the efforts of changemakers from all regions of the world who are tackling some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
Program Overview
Changemakers for the Planet seeks to empower individuals who are actively engaged in combating climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution of air, sea, and land. The program provides participants with tailored support, funding opportunities, and a platform to collaborate with like-minded individuals globally.
Key Pillars of the Program:
- Find: We identify and recruit young changemakers, activists, and leaders who are at the forefront of addressing environmental challenges.
- Support: We offer tailored support to enhance participants’ changemaking capacity, including funding for collaborative projects.
- Connect: We facilitate deep bonds among changemakers through regional in-person summits and global events, fostering a strong, interconnected community.
What You Can Expect
Participants in the Changemakers for the Planet 2025 program can look forward to a transformative experience designed to maximize their impact and collaboration. The program includes:
- In-Person Summits: An immersive 5-day summit in a nature-based location within participants’ regions, focused on building connections, fostering well-being, and initiating collaborations.
- Capacity-Building Sessions: Beginning with an online kick-off call, the program offers a needs assessment to tailor support to participants’ individual and collective needs.
- Collaborative Project Funding: Opportunities for funding collaborative projects among cohort members, fostering impactful partnerships.
- Global Community: Participants will become lifelong members of the ChangemakerXchange community, gaining access to resources, opportunities, and a global network of changemakers.
Program Highlights by Region
Sub-Saharan Africa:
- Target Audience: Changemakers aged 18-35 based in or impacting Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Summit Location: Nigeria, from 7th to 11th April 2025.
- Application Languages: Available in both English and French.

- Target Audience: Women and gender-diverse changemakers aged 18-35, based in or impacting the USA or Canada, focusing on the intersection of gender and climate.

Selection Process and Key Dates
- Application Deadline: 16th September 2024, 11:59 PM GMT.
- Application Review: 16th – 29th September 2024.
- Shortlisting and Interviews: 25th September to 25th October 2024.
- Final Selection Notification: 15th November 2024.
- Program Kick-Off Call: 27th January 2025.
Participants will also undergo a needs assessment and receive customized support from April to December 2025, with a closing ceremony on 18th November 2025.
