Call for Submissions: 2023 Abena Korantemaa Oral History Prize (Open for Ghana)

The Writers Project of Ghana has officially opened submissions for the 2023 Abena Korantemaa Oral History Prize. This prestigious annual prize celebrates oral histories narrated by women who are 65 years or older, aiming to preserve Ghana’s rich history through creative non-fiction. The prize was established in honor of Abena Korantemaa by her family and is sponsored by MAKEDA PR, with media support from Multimedia.

The Abena Korantemaa Oral History Prize seeks to inspire younger Ghanaians to document and contribute to the preservation of history. It also promotes the production of creative non-fiction from Ghana.
