2025 #ShareTheMicInCyber Fellows Cohort

The #ShareTheMicInCyber (STMIC) Fellowship is now accepting applications for its 2025 cohort. This fellowship is a unique opportunity designed for mid-career cybersecurity professionals from diverse backgrounds to conduct independent policy research, tackle critical cybersecurity challenges, and explore the human aspects of cybersecurity.

Fellowship Overview

The 2025 STMIC Fellows will serve for one calendar year, from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025. During this period, Fellows will receive a stipend, gain access to mentorship, and enjoy professional development and networking opportunities. Additionally, Fellows will have the chance to leverage New America and #ShareTheMicInCyber’s platforms to promote their work.

Eligibility and Encouragement

The fellowship encourages applications from all, with a particular focus on individuals who are underrepresented in the cybersecurity field. This includes, but is not limited to, those who identify as Black and/or people of color, LGBTQIA+, on the gender spectrum, or neurodiverse. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement to apply.

Application Timeline

The application period is from August 15, 2024, to September 30, 2024, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Applications will be reviewed throughout the fall, and finalists will be invited to a 30-minute interview with program staff in early November. Final decisions will be announced in mid-November 2024, with Fellows being publicly introduced in January 2025.
