Openheimer Memorial Trust Scholarships for Postgraduate Study: Empowering Future Leaders

We are proud to offer a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies at the Master’s, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral levels. These scholarships are aimed at candidates who have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence and are committed to pursuing careers in academia, research, development, or related fields in South Africa.

•Eligibility: Open to candidates with a proven record of academic excellence and a strong intent to contribute to academia, research, or development.

•Focus: Preference is given to students pursuing studies at South African universities. Exceptional candidates with specific and purposeful plans for advanced study in unique or highly specialised disciplines not readily available in South Africa may also be considered for international scholarships.

•International Scholarships: These are reserved for those who can demonstrate that their advanced level of study requires international tuition at a renowned institution or guidance from global leaders in their discipline, contributing meaningfully to their chosen field.

•Eligible Disciplines: We encourage applications from all disciplines, with the exception of MBAs, DBAs, or programmes with a narrow commercial focus.

•Award Frequency: Scholarships are awarded bi-annually.
