The Peace Corps is now accepting applications for its Spring 2025 Student Internship Program. This program offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain hands-on experience in various fields while contributing to the mission of the Peace Corps.

Program Overview

The Peace Corps Student Internship Program is designed to provide students with practical experience that complements their academic studies. Interns will engage in a variety of professional and technical duties that align with their field of study, helping them to develop and apply their knowledge in a real-world setting.

Who Can Apply?

This program is open to current students enrolled in accredited educational institutions. Eligible applicants include:

  • Undergraduate (Juniors and Seniors)
  • Graduate students
  • Students must be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis and be returning to school immediately following the internship.

Internship Tracks

Interns may be placed in one of several program offices, depending on their area of study:

  • Business and Industry: Focus on management, procurement, and financial analysis.
  • Communication, Policy Review, and Development: Work on communications, marketing, and policy research.
  • Financial Management, Accounting, and Budget: Gain experience in fiscal and accounting program management.
  • General Administrative and Office Services: Learn about administrative management and office support.
  • Human Resources: Develop an understanding of HR principles and processes.

Compensation

Interns in the Peace Corps Student Internship Program are compensated according to the federal pay scale. Depending on their qualifications and the nature of their work, interns can expect to earn between $33,878 and $77,895 annually, pro-rated based on the duration of the internship.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
  • Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Education: Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in a qualifying educational institution.
  • Background Check: A public trust background investigation is required.
