About SMEs in Egypt

SMEs in Egypt are defined under Law No. 152/2020, which classifies them based on their annual turnover and capital. “Newly incorporated” enterprises are defined as those within their first two years of incorporation. Entrepreneurship Projects refer to projects that have been operational for less than seven years and involve a level of innovation.

Focus on Green Growth and Youth Employment

The project prioritizes Youth Employment and Green Jobs in the MENA region. A green enterprise is fundamentally centered around sustainable development, which guides its business operations. An example includes businesses that create products from recycled materials. A company focused on green growth integrates environmental considerations into its operations, such as using energy-efficient technologies to reduce carbon emissions.

The program’s goal is to support Egypt’s transition towards a green and sustainable economy through tailored support, mentorship workshops, and self-paced courses.

Key Components of the Program:

• Green Growth Business Development: Tailored acceleration programs to help develop innovative business cases, integrating youth employment opportunities.
• Access to Financing: Assistance to improve access to financial instruments and stakeholders.
• Digital Learning: Digital initiatives to enhance growth through information technology, digitalization, and e-commerce.

Participants will also gain access to digital platforms, including the Green Growth Community and NextGenYouth Platform, to help enhance their brand and identify new opportunities.

Support and Mentorship

While the program does not provide direct financial support in the form of cash or loans, it offers strategic interventions such as mentorship, workshops on financial strategy, and access to investors and experts. The focus is on sustainable growth, preparing businesses for external funding and long-term success.

Before applying, ensure that your business license certificate, audited statement, and SME profile are ready to upload. Complete the form accurately to ensure smooth processing. All information will be kept confidential in accordance with The Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151/2020.
