The associate fellowship program offers opportunities for both junior and senior fellows to engage in meaningful research activities. Here’s what you need to know:

Junior Fellowships:

  • Aimed at identifying and nurturing next-generation leaders and scholars.
  • Participants will engage in conferences, seminars, and professional development activities, both in-person and online.
  • Eligibility: MA degree in any discipline, less than five years of work experience post-graduation, and outstanding career achievements.

Senior Fellowships:

  • Designed to strengthen the capabilities of the NDC’s Research Division through publications, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Eligibility: Completed PhD at least five years prior to the application year, an impressive publication record, and recognized expertise in their field.

General Requirements:

  • Open to nationals from NATO and NATO partner countries.
  • Both junior and senior fellows will be affiliated with the NDC’s Research Division on a non-residential basis.
  • Junior fellows will participate in annual workshops and other activities, while senior fellows will contribute to publications and organize workshops.

Conditions:

  • Non-resident fellows are not employed by NATO or the NATO Defence College but will be remunerated for their contributions.
  • Junior fellowships are initially for one year but can be extended, while senior fellowships are for two years with the possibility of renewal.

  • Junior fellows should submit a one-page CV, a one-page cover letter describing their interests, and a sample publication or description of professional achievements.
