Position Overview

• Job Title: PMEL Advisor & Programme Coordinator
• Organisation: CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality

• Contract: One year (renewable)
• Preferred Start Date: Mid-September 2026

This role combines two major functions:

• Approximately 50% PMEL Advisor
• Approximately 50% Programme Coordinator

PMEL Advisor Responsibilities

As PMEL Advisor, the successful applicant will contribute primarily to the When You(th) Lead (WYL) programme.

This flagship initiative will run from 2026 to 2029 and is implemented by CHOICE alongside youth-led organisations in:

• Ethiopia
• Uganda
• Kenya

The programme aims to increase young people’s access to:

• Youth-friendly SRHR services
• SRHR education
• Bodily autonomy
• Youth leadership opportunities

Key PMEL responsibilities include:

• Coordinating CHOICE’s PMEL Working Group.
• Supporting implementation of the WYL PMEL framework.
• Integrating WYL monitoring systems into CHOICE’s organisation-wide PMEL strategy.
• Coordinating IATI reporting and data management.
• Improving monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and organisational learning systems.

Programme Coordinator Responsibilities

The Programme Coordinator will help implement and monitor several international initiatives.

EmpowerED Programme

Working within the UNFPA-funded EmpowerED programme, responsibilities include:

• Establishing a Youth Advisory Board.
• Drafting Terms of Reference.
• Developing a Code of Conduct.
• Creating mentorship and training programmes.
• Designing work plans.
• Coordinating administration and programme implementation.

When You(th) Lead Programme

The selected candidate will also serve as a country liaison by:

• Acting as the primary contact between CHOICE and partner organisations.
• Monitoring programme implementation.

Salary and Benefits
