The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) has officially launched applications for the Green Economic Acceleration: A Japan–ASEAN Strategic Programme for Sustainable Green Finance, a prestigious fully funded regional training programme designed to strengthen sustainable finance leadership and green economic transformation across ASEAN countries.

Supported by the Government and the People of Japan, the programme will equip government officials, private-sector professionals, entrepreneurs, and sustainability leaders with practical knowledge and advanced skills in sustainable finance, green investment, carbon markets, energy transition, and climate-related economic development.

The programme will run from July 2026 to March 2027 through a three-phase learning structure that combines online learning, advanced thematic training, expert mentoring, project development, and an international summit in Japan.

Participation in the programme is completely free of charge.

About the UNITAR Green Economic Acceleration Programme

The Green Economic Acceleration Programme is a strategic Japan-ASEAN initiative created to strengthen regional cooperation in:

Programme Duration and Structure

It is divided into three progressively selective phases.

Phase I: Online Learning Programme

Phase II: Advanced Thematic Training and Expert Mentoring

Only the top 200 performing participants from Phase I will advance to this stage.

The top 50 participants from Phase II will be selected to travel to Japan for the prestigious Japan-ASEAN Green Investment Summit.

This phase provides participants with international exposure and direct engagement opportunities with Japanese institutions, investors, and sustainability stakeholders.
