The Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal is inviting applications from qualified Nepali nationals for the position of National Programme Officer – Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.

This is an exciting opportunity for professionals in education, development, and vocational training to contribute to Nepal’s socio-economic growth while working with one of the country’s longstanding international development partners.

Switzerland has been engaged in Nepal since 1959 through its development cooperation efforts, focusing on federal state building, employment and income generation, and migration. Since establishing its Embassy in Nepal in 2009, Switzerland has continued supporting Nepal’s development at national, provincial, and local levels.

The National Programme Officer (NPO) will play a key role in strengthening Nepal’s TVET sector while supporting migration and vocational skills development initiatives.

About the Role

The National Programme Officer will be responsible for the development, monitoring, and strategic steering of projects in the TVET sector, including vocational skills development within the migration portfolio.

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, the officer will ensure effective project cycle management, maintain high-quality implementation and reporting standards, and lead Switzerland’s policy engagement and donor coordination in Nepal’s TVET sector.

The role also includes representing Switzerland in communications with government agencies, development partners, and private sector stakeholders.
