The global fight against noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) continues to gain urgency as millions of lives are impacted annually by conditions such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory illnesses, and mental health disorders. At the forefront of this movement is the NCD Alliance (NCDA), a leading global civil society network committed to reducing preventable suffering and advancing health equity worldwide.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Geneva, the NCD Alliance has grown into a powerful coalition of over 400 organizations spanning more than 80 countries. Through strategic advocacy, capacity building, and partnerships, the organization plays a pivotal role in shaping policies and mobilizing resources to address the global NCD burden.

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the global response to NCDs, the NCD Alliance is currently inviting applications for a consultancy under its Partnerships & Memberships team. This opportunity centers on a critical and timely theme: the role of private philanthropy in advancing the NCD response globally.

About the Consultancy Opportunity

This consultancy is designed for experienced professionals or organizations capable of conducting in-depth research and producing actionable insights on how private philanthropic actors can contribute more effectively to the global NCD agenda. The selected consultant will be expected to develop a comprehensive project proposal that examines funding trends, identifies gaps, and proposes innovative strategies for leveraging private philanthropy in tackling NCDs.

The consultant will work closely with the Partnerships & Memberships team and report directly to the Director of Partnerships & Memberships. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-level policy discussions and influence how philanthropic funding can be mobilized to support health systems, advocacy, and patient-centered initiatives.
