APNIC Foundation 2026 Research Fellowship: $10,000 Grant for Digital Innovation in Asia Pacific
The APNIC Foundation has officially opened applications for its 2026 Research Fellowship, a prestigious program designed to support high-impact, evidence-based research addressing critical digital challenges across the Asia Pacific region.
Following the success of its inaugural cohort, the 2026 edition expands its commitment to empowering researchers, technical experts, and policy professionals to shape the future of digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and inclusive technology systems.
This fellowship is not just about research—it is about influencing real-world policy, strengthening digital resilience, and ensuring that technological advancement benefits all communities across the region.
🌏 Why This Fellowship Matters in 2026
The Asia Pacific region is undergoing rapid digital transformation. However, this progress is uneven. While some economies are advancing in artificial intelligence and digital systems, many communities still lack reliable Internet access and inclusive infrastructure.
This imbalance creates serious risks, including:
- Widening socio-economic inequality
- Fragile and vulnerable Internet infrastructure
- Ethical and sustainability concerns around AI
- Fragmented digital systems lacking interoperability
The APNIC Foundation Research Fellowship directly addresses these challenges by supporting locally grounded, policy-relevant research that bridges the gap between technical expertise and real-world implementation.
