The Chatham House Academy Fellowships 2026–2027 offer a prestigious and fully funded opportunity for early- to mid-career professionals to undertake advanced research and leadership development at one of the world’s leading policy institutes in London, United Kingdom.
Hosted by Chatham House (The Royal Institute of International Affairs), this highly competitive programme is part of the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership and the Next Generation, designed to equip emerging leaders with the knowledge, networks, and skills needed to address global challenges.
Selected fellows will engage in independent research, policy engagement, and leadership training, while contributing to real-world solutions in international affairs.
About the Chatham House Academy Fellowships
The Academy Fellowship is a 10-month, full-time programme beginning in October 2026, combining research, leadership development, and policy engagement.
Participants will:
- Conduct independent research aligned with Chatham House programmes
- Contribute to policy discussions, publications, and events
- Engage with a global network of experts, policymakers, and practitioners
- Participate in a Leadership Masterclass Programme
The fellowship is designed to develop future global leaders in policy, research, and international affairs.
Types of Fellowships Available
There are four distinct fellowship tracks, each with specific eligibility criteria:
- Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship
- Open to citizens of African countries
- New Generation Europe Academy Fellowship
- Open to Russian citizens or dual citizens
- Richard and Susan Hayden Academy Fellowship
- Open to applicants from any country
- Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academy Fellowship
- Open to Greek citizens

Programme Structure
