Applications are now open for the Young Ambassadors Program (CIYAP) under the Technology & Society Program at Carnegie India.
This one-year, in-person program based in New Delhi, India offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in research-driven policymaking within a global think tank environment.
Running from May 2026 to May 2027, the program is designed to equip future leaders with critical policy skills, research experience, and exposure to global policy conversations.
About the Carnegie India Young Ambassadors Program
The Young Ambassadors Program is tailored for early-career individuals who want to understand how policy is shaped through research and analysis.
Participants will work closely with experts and scholars at Carnegie India, contributing to policy discussions on some of the most pressing global and regional issues.
The program offers an immersive experience in policymaking, allowing participants to engage with multidisciplinary research across areas such as technology, governance, and international affairs.
Program Experience and Learning Opportunities
The selected ambassador will gain practical exposure by working on real-world policy projects and contributing to the work of a globally recognized think tank.
Key experiences include:
Observing and engaging in research-driven policymaking
Collaborating with experts across global Carnegie offices, including Washington D.C., Brussels, Beirut, Berlin, California, and Singapore
Participating in policy discussions and contributing to research outputs
Supporting major events such as the Global Technology Summit and other high-level dialogues
Building professional skills in leadership, analytical thinking, and report writing
Participants will also be mentored by leading scholars and gain valuable insights into how policy decisions are developed and implemented.

Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
Digital public infrastructure
Cybersecurity and data governance
Space policy and defense innovation

Roles and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support Carnegie India’s research and program activities through a variety of tasks.
Responsibilities may include:
Conducting research and analysis on technology policy topics
Supporting scholars on ongoing research projects
Assisting with writing, editing, and report preparation
Contributing to event organization and coordination
Providing administrative and programmatic support
The role is designed to provide a well-rounded experience across research, communication, and program management.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Recent graduate in any discipline
Interest in areas such as technology policy, artificial intelligence, law, economics, or related fields
Ability to work full-time in person in New Delhi
Additional preference is given to applicants from beyond metropolitan cities, as part of the program’s effort to expand access to policy opportunities.
