Applications Open for Aspen Kyiv–UK Leadership Bridge 2026 Leadership Fellowship (Deadline: 12 April 2026)
The Aspen Institute Kyiv and Aspen Initiative UK have launched the Aspen Kyiv–UK Leadership Bridge 2026, an exclusive leadership fellowship designed to connect emerging leaders from the United Kingdom and Ukraine who are working at the intersection of democracy, security, and technology.
In an era marked by geopolitical tension, democratic renewal, and rapid technological change, this fellowship aims to bring together 20 rising leaders (10 from the UK and 10 from Ukraine) to explore how leadership and democratic values must evolve. Through immersive seminars and collaborative projects, participants will strengthen their ethical leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-cultural collaboration skills to help address some of Europe’s most pressing challenges.
Program Timeline
The fellowship includes three key learning engagements combining in-person and virtual experiences:

UK Seminar: 21–25 June 2026 at the historic Madingley Hall, concluding with a day of high-level visits in London.

Online Seminar: 17 September 2026
-
Ukraine Seminar: 17–21 October 2026 in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains, hosted in partnership with Aspen Institute Kyiv.
All seminars will be moderated by faculty members from Aspen UK and Aspen Kyiv, using Aspen’s renowned values-based seminar method.
Collaborative Leadership Project
During the fellowship, participants will work together to design cross-border initiatives addressing shared challenges between the UK and Ukraine. These projects may include:

Policy proposals

Trade and economic cooperation strategies

Knowledge-sharing platforms
-
Cross-sector partnerships
Participants will present their initiatives at the end of the programme.
Alumni Network and Engagement
After completing the fellowship, participants will become part of the global Aspen leadership community through the networks of Aspen Initiative UK and Aspen Institute Kyiv.

Who Should Apply?
The fellowship is open to UK- and Ukraine-based emerging leaders who:

Work in one of the following sectors:

Public Sector (Government, Parliament, Civil Service)

Security & Defence
-
Private Sector
-
Media
-
Civil Society or Academia
-
-
Are aged 30–40
-
Have 5–15 years of professional experience
-
Demonstrate interest in UK–Ukraine relations
-
Are eager to collaborate across sectors and borders to shape a more interconnected and democratic world.
Fees and Logistics
The programme is heavily subsidised by the Aspen Global Fund, but selected fellows will contribute:

£2,750 participation fee

Travel to Cambridge for the UK seminar

Visa costs (if required)

International return flights to Ukraine
The participation fee covers:

Seminar materials and activities
-
4 nights accommodation, meals, and visits during the UK seminar
-
4 nights accommodation, meals, and cultural events during the Ukraine seminar
-
Group transfers for the Ukraine seminar
Limited scholarships may be available for applicants from the public sector, media, or civil society who require financial assistance.
