Key Responsibilities

The Advisor will take on a range of research, project management, and policy engagement responsibilities designed to support FES’s strategic objectives in the region.

Project Development and Management

One of the core tasks of the position is the development and management of projects related to critical geopolitical and geo-economic themes in Asia and the Pacific. These projects may focus on:

• Regional geopolitical dynamics in Asia and the Pacific

Candidate Profile

FES is seeking a candidate with strong academic training and professional experience in fields related to geopolitics, international relations, and geo-economics.

Applicants should possess:

• A university degree in political science, international relations, economics, or a related discipline

• 3–5 years of professional work experience

• Demonstrated expertise in geopolitics and/or geo-economics, ideally with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region

• Strong analytical and writing skills in English

• Experience working with think tanks, academic institutions, international organizations, or foundations

• The ability to manage projects independently

• Experience working in intercultural and international environments

Additional assets include:

• Knowledge of Asia-Pacific regional dynamics

• German language skills, although these are not mandatory
