The Alstom Foundation has officially announced the opening of its 2026 project cycle, providing funding opportunities for impactful NGO-led initiatives across key development sectors. The online submission portal opens on February 16, 2026, with a final submission deadline of April 10, 2026 (11:59 PM CET).

This annual funding opportunity supports projects that drive meaningful change in communities where Alstom operates. NGOs partnering with an Alstom employee as Project Promoter are invited to submit proposals aligned with the Foundation’s strategic priorities.

Key Dates for the 2026 Cycle

Focus Areas of the Alstom Foundation

The Alstom Foundation concentrates on four key axes of intervention:

1. Economic and Social Development

Projects under this axis should promote sustainable livelihoods and inclusive growth. Priority is given to:

2. Environmental Protection

The Foundation funds projects that enhance environmental awareness, safeguard biodiversity, protect natural habitats, and strengthen community resilience to natural disasters.

3. Access to Mobility

Proposals should facilitate safe and inclusive movement of people and goods, especially in remote or underserved communities, enabling better access to markets, healthcare, and education.

4. Access to Energy and Water

Projects that improve access to electricity and safe drinking water are strongly encouraged. With millions globally lacking these essential services, the Foundation aims to raise living standards in vulnerable communities through sustainable solutions.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for funding, each project must:

Each NGO may submit only one project per cycle.

The Role of the Alstom Promoter

Every submission must be jointly prepared by an NGO and an Alstom employee serving as Project Promoter. The promoter must be based in the same country where the project will be implemented.

The promoter collaborates in preparing and validating the project file and, if selected, assists in monitoring implementation.

If an NGO does not know an Alstom employee, it may request support from the Foundation Secretariat to identify a potential promoter. However, requests must be submitted no later than March 13, 2026. The Secretariat does not guarantee that a promoter will be identified, as promoters participate on a voluntary basis.

How to Submit

Applicants will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission.

Interested NGOs should begin early preparation to ensure compliance with all guidelines and partnership requirements before the April 10, 2026 deadline.
