The Possibilities in Tech Scholarship is a four-year immersive program designed to empower high-achieving, financially eligible students pursuing degrees in Computer Science and related fields. More than a scholarship, it is a structured support system built to help students persist, thrive, and transition confidently into careers in technology.

A Comprehensive Four-Year Experience
Recipients of the Possibilities in Tech Scholarship participate in a carefully designed four-year program centered on community, mentorship, skill development, and financial stability.
Financial Support

Up to $40,000 in scholarship funding ($10,000 per year)

This funding helps reduce financial barriers, allowing scholars to focus on academic success and career preparation.
Structured Mentorship and Career Development
A cornerstone of the program is its dedicated mentorship model.
Each scholar is paired with a full-time LinkedIn engineer who:

Provides academic guidance and career insight

Shares industry experience

Offers professional development support
In addition to mentorship, scholars receive:

Monthly coaching check-ins with the program team

Supplemental learning support (up to five hours per semester)

Technical skill-building opportunities designed by LinkedIn engineers

Internship and interview preparation support

Exposure to real-world software engineering pathways (including AI and ML)
This structure ensures students not only succeed in college, but graduate career-ready.
Experiential Learning and Community Building
Scholars begin their journey with a fully funded three-day Cohort Kickoff at LinkedIn’s headquarters in Mountain View, California before their freshman year.
Throughout the program, students also have opportunities to:

Attend hackathons and technology conferences

Participate in experiential learning 1–2 times per year (travel expenses covered)

Network with LinkedIn leaders and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

Build relationships with a cohort of like-minded peers

Students receive funding, tools, and guidance to manage their education responsibly and build long-term financial confidence.
2. Readiness for a Career in Technology
Through mentorship, technical projects, and career exposure, scholars develop practical skills aligned with today’s engineering landscape.

Community-building initiatives, networking opportunities, and peer engagement ensure scholars feel supported throughout their college journey.
4. Self-Advocacy & Getting Help
A dedicated curriculum helps students develop resilience, communication skills, and the confidence to seek support and navigate challenges effectively.
Who Should Apply?
The scholarship is open to high school seniors who:

Have not yet begun a full-time college program

Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited, not-for-profit U.S. college or university beginning Fall 2026

Intend to major in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a closely related field

Aspire to pursue a career in software engineering (including AI, ML, or related software development roles)

Are excited to participate in travel-based experiential learning opportunities

Are committed to engaging in community-building and career development activities

Demonstrate strong passion and skill in technology

Have financial need as measured by the FAFSA Student Aid Index (SAI)
