St Andrews – GREAT Scholarships 2026
The University of St Andrews is now accepting applications for the St Andrews – GREAT Scholarships, designed to support exceptional prospective Master’s students in the study of global languages, literatures, and cultures.

The scholarships are open to students from:

Scholarship Overview
The GREAT Scholarships aim to recognize and support students who:

Demonstrate outstanding academic merit

Aspire to become influential leaders in their future careers

Have wide-ranging interests outside their studies
-
Seek to broaden their personal and academic experiences at St Andrews
Awards:

Three scholarships will be granted in total, each valued at £10,000 toward tuition fees
-
One award is allocated per eligible country
Eligible Programs
Students can apply for the scholarship if they are applying to the following Master’s programs at the School of Modern Languages:

Masters in Comparative Literature
-
Masters in Global Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
Applicants do not need to have received an offer to apply for the scholarship—they can submit a scholarship application after applying for their chosen Master’s program.
