The Blue Carbon Science & Policy Summer Course 2026 at the University of St Andrews is a two-week intensive programme designed for students and professionals who want practical and academic training in coastal carbon, climate change mitigation, and marine conservation policy. Delivered through the University’s Blue Carbon Academy and aligned with the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the course combines expert-led teaching, fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and real-world policy applications.

Expect morning lectures and hands-on afternoon practicals across two immersive weeks.

All work is graded by University of St Andrews academics, and you will receive an official transcript.

Academic Credit

Students earn credit under the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
