Journalists: Network of Investigativee Investigative and Public Interest Journalists (NIPIJ) – West Africa 2026
Applications open for Journalists: Network of Investigativee Investigative and Public Interest Journalists (NIPIJ) – West Africa. The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), with funding support from DW Akademie, is inviting applications from investigative and public interest journalists in Ghana and across West Africa to join the Network of Investigative and Public Interest Journalists (NIPIJ).
This new regional network is being established to foster collaboration and mutual support among journalists working in investigative and public interest reporting. NIPIJ will function as a professional platform where members can exchange experiences, share resources, and adopt best practices that strengthen safety, security, and media professionalism across West Africa.
About the Network
The Network of Investigative and Public Interest Journalists aims to:
- Promote collaboration among journalists in West Africa
- Provide a space to exchange professional experiences and tools
- Strengthen safety and security practices
- Advance high standards of investigative and public interest journalism
Benefits of Joining
Members of the Network will benefit from:
- Virtual learning and experience-sharing sessions that create opportunities to engage with peers, sharpen skills, and exchange best practices
- Access to MFWA’s pool of facilitators and trainers for upcoming training programmes and engagement opportunities across West Africa
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be practising investigative or public interest journalists based in West Africa
- Commit to participating in all NIPIJ sessions
