CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is inviting applications for an Administrative Student – Junior Communication Officer (Partnerships & Fundraising) to join the CERN & Society Foundation. This role offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in science communication, fundraising, partnerships, and public engagement at one of the world’s leading research institutions.
Based within the Stakeholders Engagement group of CERN’s Stakeholder Relations sector, the position supports CERN’s philanthropic arm, which advances projects in education and outreach, innovation and knowledge exchange, and culture and creativity. The successful candidate will contribute to creative campaigns, donor engagement, social media management, and event organisation while helping connect science with society.

Eligibility: Must be enrolled full time in Bachelor’s or Master’s studies

Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualise, produce, and edit communication materials such as articles, website content, annual reviews, presentations, and digital designs
- Support regular communications with CERN & Society Foundation ambassadors and board members
- Assist with newsletters and marketing automation
- Manage the Foundation’s social media pages on Facebook and LinkedIn
- Contribute to multi-channel marketing and communication campaigns
- Design promotional materials and donor-focused publications using tools such as Canva or InDesign
- Support the organisation of events, visits, and meetings
- Conduct research on prospective donors and assist with due diligence processes
- Maintain the CiviCRM donor database
- Carry out administrative tasks to support the team
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Background in communications or related fields
- Proficient in English; French is an advantage
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Experience with web development, particularly WordPress, is an asset
- Quick learner able to adapt to new concepts
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
