STREAMING Open Call for Knowledge Transfer – €25,000 Grants for Digital Training Projects

The STREAMING consortium has launched its Open Call for Knowledge Transfer, inviting organizations across Africa and Europe to design digital, practice-oriented training that strengthens sustainable food trade systems. Each selected project will receive €25,000, with 11 grants available.

This opportunity aims to build bridges between researchers, farmers, processors, start-ups, and public health actors, delivering accessible digital training that supports innovation, sustainability, and food system resilience.

A key priority of this call is women’s empowerment. Proposals should intentionally include and support women farmers, entrepreneurs, processors, and innovators.


Training Themes

Applicants are invited to develop digital courses focused on innovations in:

  • Traceability in the food supply chain
  • Life cycle assessment
  • Nutritional requirements
  • Reducing micronutrient deficiencies
  • Food waste reduction
  • Sustainable farming systems
  • Food safety
  • Scaling innovations in food supply chains

Courses must be interactive, applied, and designed to meet the needs of local practitioners and small businesses.


Who Can Apply?

Eligible Third Parties include:

  • Research institutions & universities
  • NGOs and industry partners
  • Innovation hubs, incubators, business schools
  • Vocational and technical colleges
  • Multi-organization consortia across Africa and Europe

At least 60% of funding will go to African organizations, with strong encouragement for women-led entities and female innovators.
Applicants from any country may submit proposals—participation is not limited to STREAMING partner nations.


Funding & Timeline

  • Grant amount: €25,000 per project
  • Total call budget: €275,000
  • Project duration: 8–12 months
  • Completion deadline: December 2027
  • Call deadline: 2 March 2026, 23:59 CET
  • Funding body: Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, University of Applied Sciences, on behalf of the STREAMING consortium
