Host Emerging African Talent: Join the Mastercard Foundation Associates Program as an Employer

The Mastercard Foundation Associates Program invites employers across Africa to host skilled, motivated young professionals for 12 months, while the Mastercard Foundation covers a significant portion of the associate’s salary. This unique employer–talent partnership helps organizations strengthen capacity, reduce hiring risks, and actively contribute to Africa’s growing talent pipeline.

About the Mastercard Foundation Associates Program

The program is a 12-month professional development and placement initiative for young professionals aged 18–35 with 0–2 years of work experience. Selected candidates—called Associates—undergo a rigorous selection and pre-training process before being matched with employers based on skills and career interests.

Following the successful completion of Phase 1, the program is now launching Phase 2, expanding placements across multiple African countries.

Countries Participating in Phase 2

  • Nigeria

  • Ghana

  • Liberia

  • Sierra Leone

  • The Gambia
