The Commonwealth Students’ Association (CSA), through the Office of the Vice President for Advocacy and Partnerships, is pleased to announce a call for applications for passionate, driven, and qualified young leaders to serve on its Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Subcommittee.

This opportunity is open to young people across all Commonwealth countries who are interested in leadership, advocacy, development work, fundraising, and institutional partnerships. The Subcommittee plays a vital role in strengthening CSA’s collaborations, mobilizing resources, and supporting student-focused programmes and initiatives across the Commonwealth.

Selection into this Subcommittee is highly competitive and based strictly on merit, leadership potential, and demonstrated commitment to youth development and service.


About the Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Subcommittee

The Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Subcommittee is a critical arm of CSA’s governance and operations. It supports the organization’s mission by identifying funding opportunities, strengthening institutional relationships, managing partnerships, and ensuring sustainable resource mobilization to advance student-centered programmes.

Members of this Subcommittee work closely with CSA leadership, partners, donors, and stakeholders across different regions of the Commonwealth, contributing meaningfully to advocacy, education, leadership development, and youth empowerment initiatives.


Available Volunteer Positions

Applicants may apply for one (1) of the following volunteer roles based on their skills, interests, and experience:

1. Grants & Donor Relations Officer

The Grants & Donor Relations Officer supports CSA’s fundraising and donor engagement strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research funding opportunities, grants, and donor prospects
  • Manage donor relationships, communication, and reporting
  • Support proposal development and funding strategies
  • Track funded project outcomes and impact
  • Advise the Vice President on potential funding strategies and donor engagement approaches

2. Partnerships Database & CRM Officer

This role focuses on data management, documentation, and partnership tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update partner and donor databases
  • Track engagements, agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), and partnerships
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Provide reliable data insights to support decision-making
  • Support reporting and institutional memory for partnerships

3. Regional Partnerships Coordinator(s)

Regional Partnerships Coordinators strengthen CSA’s presence and partnerships within assigned regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential partners and donors within assigned Commonwealth regions
  • Serve as a liaison between regional stakeholders and CSA
  • Support fundraising and regional engagement initiatives
  • Submit periodic reports on regional partnership development
  • Support the organization of regional events and engagement activities to strengthen partnerships

4. Grants & Proposal Writer

This role supports CSA’s grant-seeking and proposal development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research relevant grant opportunities and funding calls
  • Draft clear, persuasive, and compliant grant proposals
  • Track proposal submissions and outcomes
  • Maintain a proposal repository and documentation system
  • Collaborate with the Grants & Donor Relations Officer to meet deadlines and donor requirements
  • Ensure proposals align with CSA’s strategic goals and donor priorities

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between 18 and 28 years old
  • Be from any Commonwealth country
  • Demonstrate strong writing, research, organizational, and communication skills
  • Show proficiency in Excel and digital tools
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Have a clear interest in youth leadership, advocacy, development, or nonprofit work
  • Prior knowledge of fundraising, partnerships, or donor relations is an added advantage
