The Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre is currently offering several exciting opportunities for interns and professionals who are passionate about climate action, humanitarian work, and organizational development.

 1- Internship Vacancy: Human Resources

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our Human Resources department. This role offers practical experience in HR management within an international humanitarian organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain personnel records in compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Manage leave registration using Exact Online.
  • Support the HR Advisor with contract administration.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects such as Process Mapping and other ad hoc HR initiatives.
  • Act as a backup for the Business Support Officer.

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a university programme for the entire duration of the placement.
  • Background in Business/Public Administration and/or Human Resources.
  • Availability for 32 hours per week.
  • Minimum duration of three months.

  2- Internship Vacancy: Technical Research Intern (OPTICC)

This internship supports the OPTICC project, focusing on applied climate and conflict research with humanitarian impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to GIS analysis and the OPTICC interactive platform.
  • Develop contextual resources such as seasonal calendars, risk maps, and analytical briefs.
  • Conduct targeted research on climate–conflict dynamics.
  • Participate in team discussions and contribute ideas to improve usability of tools.

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a university programme.
  • Background in climate science, environmental studies, geography, international relations, conflict studies, humanitarian studies, or data science.
  • Remote position, 40 hours per week.

This role supports the Climate and Conflict team in developing engaging communication products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and edit short videos (explainers, interviews, learning snippets).
  • Develop visual communication products such as slides, visuals, and storyboards.
  • Adapt technical project outputs into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Support dissemination of OPTICC outputs across internal and external platforms.
  • Contribute creative ideas to improve visibility and uptake of OPTICC tools.

Requirements:

  • Background in communications, media studies, journalism, digital media, or international development.
  • Remote position, 40 hours per week.

  4- Internship Vacancy: Climate Integration in Conflict-Affected Settings

This internship supports the Climate and Conflict team’s engagement with the ICRC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support revision of the ICRC Climate Framework for Operations.
  • Contribute to a reflection report on five years of Climate Centre support to ICRC.
  • Engage with ICRC delegations and programme teams.
  • Provide targeted support to initiatives such as project climate scan tools, multi-risk climate action, and monitoring/evaluation support.

  • Background in climate/environmental studies, geography, international relations, development studies, humanitarian studies, or social sciences.

 5- Vacancy: Contracts Officer

We are seeking a full-time Contracts Officer to support the Contracts & Compliance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage administration of funding agreements.
  • Communicate directly with donors regarding grant approvals.
  • Review grants, contracts, MOUs, and donor agreements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate project administration in the financial system.
  • Support project monitoring and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Work and residency permit for the Netherlands required.
  • Hybrid setting: work from home and from the Climate Centre office in The Hague every Wednesday.

6-  Vacancy: National Consultant (Part-Time), Vietnam

We are seeking a local consultant in Vietnam to support capacity building and climate resilience initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build capacity of the Vietnam Red Cross on climate and financing.
  • Prepare KII lists, field checklists, and interview questionnaires.
  • Support drafting of diagnostic study and climate resilience framework report.
  • Coordinate with VNRC and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Preference for consultants based in Hanoi, Vietnam.
  • Primarily home-based with some in-person coordination.
