Funding Opportunity for Fora Program Alumni – Global Impact Fund Microgrants (Cohort 2)

The Global Impact Fund is now accepting applications! This microgrant initiative is designed to support Fora program alumni who are ready to scale or launch impactful projects that create positive change in their communities.

In partnership with Virgin Unite, Fora is continuing its commitment to alumni by investing directly in their leadership journeys and social impact work—long after the program ends.


What’s on Offer

  • Microgrant amount: $1,000 CAD per project
  • Total investment: $30,000 CAD supporting 30 alumni-led projects
  • Additional support:
    • Expert-led training and workshops
    • Personalized mentorship and guidance
    • Practical tools to build sustainable initiatives

Selected alumni will also receive in-depth training on:

  • Developing a strong project framework
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Community engagement strategies

What Is the Global Impact Fund?

Launched in 2025, the Global Impact Fund empowers Fora alumni changemakers to take bold ideas further. The program helps alumni strengthen their leadership skills, refine their projects, and scale meaningful, community-driven impact.

This microgrant program reflects Fora’s long-term investment in alumni success—supporting real-world change through funding, learning, and mentorship.


Who Is Eligible to Apply?

You are eligible if you:

  • Are a Global Summit or Rise on Boards / Rise on Boards+ alumni
  • Are available to participate in the program from April to November 2026
  • Are interested in launching or growing a social impact initiative aligned with Fora’s mission

Location: Open to eligible alumni worldwide

Priority consideration will be given to alumni who were not selected in Cohort 1.

Note:

  • Alumni who applied to Cohort 1 but were not funded are encouraged to apply again.
  • Current participants of Rise on Boards Cohort 9 or Rise on Boards+ Cohorts 2 and 3 are not eligible for this round.

What Types of Projects Are Funded?

The fund supports initiatives focused on:

  • Social impact and community development
  • Education and skills-building
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Health equity
  • Digital empowerment

If your project addresses a real community need and aims to create positive, lasting change, you’re encouraged to apply.


Selection Process

  • Applications are reviewed by the Fora team
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview
  • All applicants will be notified of the outcome

Timeline:

  • Application deadline: January 11, 2026
  • Application reviews and interviews: Late winter – early spring 2026
