The 2026 SEO Law Fellowship: Fast-Track Your Legal Career
The SEO Law Fellowship is a year-long career accelerator designed to prepare incoming law students for success in law school and in top corporate law firms. With rigorous academic preparation, early exposure to BigLaw, and access to a powerful network of over 2,500 alumni, the Fellowship offers one of the strongest foundations available for future legal professionals.
What the Fellowship Offers
Academic and Professional Development:
Fellows begin their journey with the Law Institute, a two-week hybrid training program taught by professors from leading U.S. law schools. Through legal writing workshops, lectures in Criminal Law and Torts, and a series of professional development sessions, Fellows gain the academic readiness and practical knowledge needed to excel as 1Ls and future attorneys.
Summer Associate Experience:
Before starting law school, Fellows complete a 10-week paid summer internship at a top corporate law firm. They work full time alongside 1L and 2L summer associates, receiving real-world experience in corporate transactions, litigation, legal writing, research, pro bono matters, and client-related work.
1L Academic Support:
During their first year of law school, Fellows receive ongoing academic guidance from experienced legal tutors and professors. Support includes help with outlines, case briefs, notes, and practice exams.
Alumni Network:
Fellows join a thriving community of more than 2,500 alumni, including law firm partners, general counsels, U.S. attorneys, federal judges, and former members of Congress. The network provides mentorship, professional advice, and long-term career opportunities.
Inside the Law Institute
The Law Institute is a two-week hybrid academic and professional training program. Academically, Fellows participate in legal writing seminars and lectures in Criminal Law and Torts led by faculty from top law schools. Professionally, they attend workshops and panels on communication, professionalism, law firm structure, transactional and litigation practice, partner perspectives, and pro bono work. This early preparation ensures that Fellows enter their summer internships and law school with confidence.
What the Summer Associateship Includes
Fellows work on meaningful legal assignments such as drafting memos and briefs, conducting legal research, revising contracts, assisting with transactional closings, supporting litigation teams, and participating in pro bono projects. The experience provides valuable insight into the expectations, pace, and culture of large law firms.
Understanding Practice Groups
Large corporate law firms include a range of practice groups. Fellows are introduced to these areas to help them make informed career decisions.
Transactional Practice: Attorneys advise companies involved in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, public offerings, reorganizations, and major financial transactions.
Litigation Practice: Attorneys represent clients in trials, arbitrations, investigations, and settlements across areas such as securities, antitrust, real estate, white-collar crime, and tax.
Hybrid Practice Groups: Areas like Intellectual Property and Bankruptcy/Restructuring often involve both transactional and litigation work.
Because market trends often influence hiring and staffing needs, early awareness of these areas helps Fellows find the best practice fit for their strengths and interests.

Fellows may work in major legal markets including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Menlo Park/Palo Alto, Miami, New York City, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Wilmington, Delaware.
