HealthPro2 Grants: Strengthening Health, Nutrition, and WASH Services for Vulnerable Populations

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) has launched the HealthPro2 Grant Program, a major funding initiative aimed at improving health outcomes for populations facing extreme poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition. This program specifically targets host communities, refugees, and internally displaced persons, providing a unique opportunity for organizations to make a sustainable, measurable impact in some of the most vulnerable regions of Sudan.

Program Overview

The HealthPro2 program seeks to strengthen health systems and community-level infrastructure, with a focus on tangible outcomes that improve both short-term relief and long-term resilience. By supporting projects that combine health care, nutrition, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services, the program aims to enhance the overall wellbeing and safety of vulnerable populations.

Objectives

HealthPro2 grants focus on the following key areas:

• Improving health outcomes: Expand access to primary health care and nutrition services for vulnerable communities.

• Strengthening emergency and disease response: Enhance disease surveillance, referral systems, and emergency obstetric care.

• Building community-level infrastructure: Develop and maintain communal latrines, safe drinking water systems, and other critical WASH services.

• Supporting sustainable, resilient interventions: Encourage projects that provide long-term benefits and empower communities to maintain essential health and sanitation services.

Funding & Eligibility

• Indicative budget: EUR 4,300,000

• Individual grant range: EUR 1,000,000 – 4,300,000

• Coverage: Up to 100% of eligible action costs
  Eligible applicants include organizations that meet AICS requirements and whose proposed projects align with program objectives. Projects requiring costs beyond the grant amount will need complementary funding from other sources.
