The 26th International AIDS Conference 2026 Scholarship – Applications Now Open
The 26th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2026) is now open for registration, and the International AIDS Society (IAS) has launched scholarship applications for individuals who need financial support to participate. The scholarship program supports people working, studying, or volunteering in the field of HIV and enables them to attend the conference either in person in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, or virtually.
Conference Dates: 26–31 July 2026
Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil + Virtual
Deadline: 27 January 2026, 23:59 CET
Eligibility: Individuals 18+ working, volunteering, or studying in the field of HIV.
AIDS 2026, held under the theme “Rethink. Rebuild. Rise.”, will bring together researchers, policymakers, health professionals, communities, and people living with HIV to address emerging challenges in the global HIV response.
Types of Support
1. In-Person Scholarship Support
Includes:

Access to all sessions, Global Village, exhibition, pre-conferences

Pre-paid roundtrip economy-class flight

Accommodation (single room, budget hotel)

Daily living allowance for the duration of the conference
2. Virtual Scholarship Support
Includes:

Online access to all live-streamed sessions

Session recordings & on-demand content

Virtual Global Village

E-posters and online platform access
All Scholarship Recipients Receive:

Two years of free IAS membership
Priority Applicants
Priority will be given to:
-
Selected abstract presenters, workshop facilitators, or Global Village organizers
-
Applicants from low- and middle-income countries
-
Members of key populations and people living with HIV
-
Young people and early-career investigators (below 35)

Those who have not previously received an IAS conference scholarship
Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be at least 18 years old by 26 July 2026

Be working, volunteering, or studying in the HIV field
