Oxford Institute for Ethics in AI Visiting Fellowships 2026/27 – Applications Now Open

The Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford is delighted to announce that applications are now OPEN for the Visiting Fellowships 2026/27 academic year. Each year, the Institute elects three Visiting Fellows, offering established scholars in AI‑related fields the opportunity to pursue cutting‑edge research on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

Fellowship Overview

  • Eligibility: Applicants must hold a doctorate awarded at least 5 years ago.
  • Global Reach: Applications are welcomed from scholars across all countries and universities.
  • Diversity Encouraged: The Institute particularly encourages applications from under‑represented groups within their disciplines.
  • Tenure: One academic term at Oxford.

Preference is given to individuals who would benefit most from the opportunity to spend time in Oxford and who may find it difficult to pursue their research without the support of a Visiting Fellowship.

Visiting Fellows are expected to:

  • Participate in lectures, seminars, and workshops.
  • Reside in Oxford for the full term.
  • Present their research to colleagues.
  • Engage actively with the Institute and the wider university community.
