Traineeship Opportunity (2025–26)

Location: Luxembourg
Duration: 6 months (possible extension up to 12 months)
Type: Paid (stipend provided)

About the Role

The EIB Global Directorate is recruiting trainees within its Corporate Finance and Global Activities Department. Trainees will join the Implementation Unit, supporting projects financed through the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF).

This opportunity is reserved for young nationals from the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) and the Africa, Caribbean & Pacific (ACP) regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project teams working in MENA and ACP partner countries

  • Prepare Project Monitoring Reports (PMRs)

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and statistics

  • Assist with research, reporting, and ad hoc tasks linked to the Unit’s Business Plan

  • Work closely with senior experts and contribute to core operational activities

Who Can Apply?

  • Final-year students or recent graduates from a MENA/ACP partner country

  • Academic background in economics, finance, business, or related fields

  • Previous experience in banking, finance, or auditing is an asset

  • Strong command of English; knowledge of French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or Ukrainian is a plus

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

EIB Graduate Programme (2025–26)

The EIB Graduate Programme places emerging professionals in junior roles across the Bank, allowing them to develop skills while contributing meaningfully to EIB’s mission.

Eligibility

  • A university degree

  • Less than 2 years of full-time work experience since your most recent graduation (internships/traineeships under 9 months do not count)

Duration

  • Typically 1–2 years

  • Possibility to extend up to 4 years

Salary and Benefits (2025 Bands)

Graduate programme participants are hired at Grade 3, with an annual base salary starting at:
