Study Safely in Italy Through UniTrento’s Reception and Training Project

In the 2025/2026 academic year, the University of Trento (UniTrento) has introduced a new Reception and Training Project designed for international students from conflict zones. This initiative provides a pathway for young people whose education has been interrupted by war, instability, or danger to continue their academic journey in a safe environment.

The program targets individuals living outside Italy who cannot begin or continue university studies in their home countries due to conflict or insecurity.

About the Program

A maximum of ten international students will be selected to participate in a one-year Foundation Year at the University of Trento.

During the Foundation Year, students will:

After completing the Foundation Year, students may apply for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs at UniTrento for the 2026/27 academic year, subject to meeting the necessary admission requirements.

Applicants who cannot provide complete documentation due to conflict must complete the official Study History Form, available on the UniTrento website.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

  1. Document evaluation – Applications will be reviewed to confirm eligibility and assess academic background, motivation, and risk level.

  2. Interview (if required) – Shortlisted candidates may be invited to an online interview for further assessment.

Final results will be published on the UniTrento “Students at Risk” webpage. Selected candidates will also receive an official email notification.
