Sweden–Brazil Eureka Call: Funding for Sustainable Innovation and Green Transition Projects
Do you want to collaborate with Brazil on sustainable mining, bioeconomy, or sustainable cities?
The Sweden–Brazil Eureka Call 2025–2026 offers funding for international R&D projects that accelerate the green transition. Through this initiative, small and large companies can co-develop market-oriented innovations supported by Vinnova (Sweden) and FINEP/Embrapii (Brazil) under the Eureka Network Projects framework.
About the Call
The call supports collaborative research and development (R&D) projects focusing on:
- Sustainable mining
- Bioeconomy
- Sustainable cities
Projects should aim to create commercially viable products, processes, or services that contribute to a sustainable future.

Who Can Apply
Eligible consortia must include at least one company from Sweden and one from Brazil.
Participation is open to:
- Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Large corporations
- Universities and research institutes
Each project must be company-led, ensuring strong market relevance and potential for commercial application.
Funding and Support
- Maximum Funding: SEK 5,500,000 (approx. €500,000) per project
- Funding Coverage:
- SMEs: Up to 60% of eligible costs
- Large companies: Up to 40%
- Universities and research institutes: Up to 100% (non-state aid)
Funding is provided in line with Vinnova’s General Terms and Conditions and the EU’s General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER No 651/2014, Article 25), covering industrial research and experimental development.
Application Process
To apply, applicants must complete two steps:
- Submit an international application through Eureka (29 Sept 2025 – 30 Jan 2026).
- Submit a national application to Vinnova (29 Sept 2025 – 6 Feb 2026, by 14:00 CET).
Applications are completed via Vinnova’s eServices Portal and must include:
- Project description
- Participant details
- Budget information
Applicants are encouraged to start early, as the process involves detailed analyses and documentation.
Confidentiality and Transparency
All applications submitted to Vinnova become public documents. However, sensitive information that could cause financial harm to the applicant’s business operations, inventions, or research results will remain confidential.
