The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of International Affairs (IA) is now accepting applications for its highly competitive Junior Fellowship Program for the 2025–2027 cycle. This two-year program offers recent college graduates an unparalleled opportunity to shape international economic policy and gain hands-on experience at the forefront of global finance and diplomacy.

The Junior Fellowship program is designed for outstanding, motivated graduates eager to contribute to U.S. engagement in international financial and economic issues while building skills that can lead to future opportunities in government, academia, or the private sector.


About the Junior Fellowship Program

The International Affairs Junior Fellowship is a two-year, fixed-term program. Each year, up to 30 fellows are selected to join Treasury’s Office of International Affairs, working alongside senior officials on critical issues that shape U.S. economic engagement worldwide.

Selection Process:

  1. Initial screening of submitted applications.

  2. Shortlisted candidates will complete two short essay questions.

  3. Final evaluations take place in December 2025.

  4. Fellowship start: Summer 2026 (or alternative agreed date).


Information Sessions

To support prospective applicants, the Treasury’s Junior Fellows recruiting committee will host three information sessions. These will feature current Junior Fellows sharing their experiences and insights.

Each session runs from 8:00–9:00 p.m. Eastern Time (U.S. & Canada).
