Applicants may apply to only one theme, but those not selected under a partner strand will be considered for the core scholarship.

Application Process

  1. Take the eligibility quiz (mandatory to access the application form).

  2. Secure a primary supervisor at an eligible Irish research institution well before applying.

  3. Prepare your application via the SmartSimple online system (opens 11 September 2025).

  4. Submit your application by 23 October 2025 (16:00 Irish time). Applications must be submitted through the SmartSimple platform.

  5. Ensure supervisor endorsement by 6 November 2025 and Research Office endorsement by 13 November 2025.
