Who Can Apply The 2025/2026 call is open to individuals holding an Italian second-cycle master’s degree (“Laurea Magistrale” or “Laurea Specialistica”) or an equivalent second-level academic qualification from an AFAM branch institution. Non-Italian Master’s degrees, recognized as suitable by the selection committee, are also accepted. Crucially, the qualification must be obtained by October 31, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria Successful applicants will demonstrate:
- Possession of a qualifying degree by the specified deadline.
- Meeting specific admission requirements detailed in the individual PhD Programme Tables.
- For applicants seeking positions reserved for scholarship holders from foreign countries, documentation proving possession of the scholarship or initiation of the application process to obtain it by the application deadline.

Funding and Timeline

- Scholarship Amount: €16,243.00 annually (subject to regulatory amendments)
- Scholarship Increase for Periods Abroad: 50% for periods up to 12 months, or up to 18 months for joint guidance/Double Degree programs
- Research Budget: Not less than 10% of the annual scholarship amount for all PhD students from the first year
