About the PhD Programmes at UNIMORE Established with a commitment to fostering advanced research and academic excellence, UNIMORE’s PhD Programmes are designed to cultivate specialized knowledge and innovative thinking. The programs span three years, beginning November 1st, 2025.

Who Can Apply The 2025/2026 call is open to individuals holding an Italian second-cycle master’s degree (“Laurea Magistrale” or “Laurea Specialistica”) or an equivalent second-level academic qualification from an AFAM branch institution. Non-Italian Master’s degrees, recognized as suitable by the selection committee, are also accepted. Crucially, the qualification must be obtained by October 31, 2025.

Funding and Timeline

The number of available scholarships and positions may increase, with specific-topic scholarships potentially increasing until June 10, 2025, and open-topic scholarships until the publication of final rankings. Regularly check the University website for updates.

Application Process To apply, interested candidates must submit their applications online via www.esse3.unimore.it by the deadline.

  1. Registration: Obtain login credentials by registering on www.esse3.unimore.it.
  2. Access Restricted Area: Log in and navigate to “Admission” – “Admission Exams” – “Ph. D.”.
  3. Complete Application: Fill in all required information, including high school qualification details.
  4. Adaptations for Disabilities: Report any necessary adaptations for examinations if applicable, and email disabilita@unimore.it and segr.dottorati@unimore.it.
  5. Application Fee: Pay a non-refundable administrative fee of €25.00 for each application. The invoice is available on www.esse3.unimore.it under “Taxes”.
  6. Final Submission: Ensure all data is saved and explicitly confirmed at the end of the online procedure.
