Apply for Lloyd’s Register Foundation Safety Funding 2025
Lloyd’s Register Foundation has officially launched the 2025 Global Safety Evidence Centre funding call, inviting proposals from academic institutions, nonprofits, and industry partners worldwide to support cutting-edge research aimed at improving global safety outcomes. This initiative aligns with the Foundation’s 2024–2029 strategy to advance knowledge and practice in safety science and workplace safety.
About the Global Safety Evidence Centre
The Global Safety Evidence Centre is a new hub designed to gather, create, and communicate evidence on what works to make people and infrastructure safer. It addresses urgent global safety challenges such as workplace hazards, unsafe infrastructure, and lack of high-quality evidence in safety management. The Centre’s early focus is on two main areas:
-
Safe Work: Investigating workplace safety issues, especially in high-risk sectors and informal work environments.
-
Safety Science: Defining and measuring safety more precisely across sectors like energy, transport, and manufacturing, and evaluating the effectiveness of safety interventions.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include:
-
Academic institutions and research organisations
-
Non-profit entities and NGOs
-
Industry partners with research capacity
Applications from across the globe are welcome, with special encouragement given to proposals involving Lloyd’s Register Foundation’s Ocean Centre countries—Brazil, Kenya, Ghana, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, and Indonesia—and other coastal communities with similar safety and societal challenges.
