The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia is accepting application for Australia Awards Scholarships 2025-26. Fully Funded Australia Awards Scholarships are open for all international students around the world to study in Australia.
Australia Awards Scholarships is one of the best scholarships for all international students and accepts many students every year. You can apply for Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. Scholarships. You can apply to Australian Universities as well as and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions. Through Australia Awards Scholarships you can develop the skills and knowledge of individuals to drive change and contribute to development in their own countries.

Financial Benefits

- Return Air Travel
- Establishment Allowance—a once only payment as a contribution towards Accommodation Expenses, Textbooks, Study Materials
- Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE)
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
- Pre-Course English (PCE) Fees—if deemed necessary PCE may be available for students for in-country and/or in-Australia training
- Supplementary academic support may be available to ensure a scholar’s academic success or enhance their academic experience
- fieldwork (for research awards and Masters by coursework which has a research component where fieldwork is compulsory) may be available for eligible research students for one return economy class airfare via the most direct route to their country of citizenship or within Australia.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Age Requirement: Be at least 18 years old on 1 February of the year the scholarship commences.
- Citizenship:
- Be a citizen of a participating country (listed on the Australia Awards website).
- Be residing in and applying from their country of citizenship.
- Not be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently.
- Marital Status:
- Not be married to, engaged to, or in a de facto relationship with a person who holds or is eligible to hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
- Exception: Residents of Cook Islands, Niue, and Tokelau with New Zealand citizenship are eligible but must apply for a Student visa (subclass 500).
- Military Service: Not be currently serving in the military.
- Previous Australia Awards Recipients:
- Must have resided outside of Australia for twice the length of their previous scholarship duration before applying again.
- Example: If previously awarded a four-year scholarship, the applicant must have lived outside Australia for eight years before reapplying.
- Country-Specific Requirements: Satisfy any additional criteria set by their home country’s government or Program Area, such as work experience in a relevant sector.
- Academic Admission: Meet the admission requirements of the institution where the scholarship will be undertaken.
- If admission requirements are not met, the award may be withdrawn.
- Visa Requirements: Meet all Australian Department of Home Affairs requirements for a Student Visa.
- Failure to meet visa conditions may lead to withdrawal of the award.
- Academic Level: Applicants cannot apply for a scholarship at an academic level lower than their highest qualification.
- Example: A Ph.D. holder cannot apply for a Master’s scholarship.
- Conflict of Interest: Applicants must disclose any relationship with Program Area staff (including locally engaged staff or managing contractors) to ensure a transparent application process.
