Become a European Commission Young Energy Ambassador(Fully-funded and open to all young European residents)
Are you passionate about advancing Europe’s clean and fair energy transition? If you’re between 18 and 35 years old, this is your chance to become a Young Energy Ambassador (YEA) and join a dynamic group of young professionals dedicated to shaping Europe’s future in energy.
What is the Young Energy Ambassadors (YEA) Programme?
The YEA programme offers a one-year mandate for young professionals to engage in EU policymaking on energy, collaborate with policy experts, and share energy-related policy messages within your communities. As a YEA, you will actively contribute to discussions at the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), held from 10-12 June 2025 in Brussels, and beyond.
Why Become a Young Energy Ambassador?
- Get Involved in EU Policymaking: Participate in EU energy policy dialogues, engage with experts, and help promote sustainable energy solutions.
- Attend EUSEW 2025: Join high-profile sessions, network with industry leaders, and be part of the European Youth Energy Day (EYED). Participation costs, including travel and accommodation, will be covered.
- A Year of Opportunities: Throughout the year, you will be part of a professional network spanning Europe, participate in workshops, policy dialogues, and mentorship schemes, and gain exposure in leading European media outlets.
Key Programme Dates
- Applications Open: Now through 1 March 2025.
- Results Announced: April 2025.
- Programme Activities: April 2025 – June 2026, including participation in EUSEW and other outreach activities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Geographical Scope: Candidates must legally reside in an EU Member State, and their energy-related activities should be carried out in at least one EU Member State.
- Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old, born between 1 March 1989 and 1 March 2007.
Evaluation Criteria
Your application will be evaluated based on the following:
- Profile: Highlight your personal journey and advocacy for a clean, fair, and competitive energy transition.
- Action and Impact: Describe concrete actions you’ve taken to advance sustainable energy and their impact on your community.
- Motivation: Explain your motivation for joining the YEA programme and how it could help promote the benefits of clean energy transition.
Deadlines & Timeline
- Launch of the call: 28 January 2025
- Closing date: 1 March 2025
- Evaluation: March 2025
- Results announcement: Mid-April 2025
Obligations of Young Energy Ambassadors
As a YEA, you will:
- Contribute to promotional material, including videos, photos, and quotes.
- Promote EU energy policies and EUSEW through your activities and networks.
- Participate in the European Sustainable Energy Week and other programme activities.
- Engage with local communities to share information on European energy policies.
