About CIDER

The Cornell Collaborative for International Development Economics Research (CIDER) is a pioneering initiative at Cornell University uniting 23 faculty members across various colleges and schools, including the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy.

Cornell has a storied history in international development economics, influencing pivotal areas such as poverty reduction, food insecurity, and rural development. Key global milestones, like the development of the world’s primary poverty and food insecurity measures and the research underpinning Asia’s Green Revolution, trace their origins to Cornell. CIDER continues this legacy by conducting rigorous applied research to guide global decision-makers.
