Are you between the ages of 13-24 and passionate about making a difference? UNICEF Canada’s Youth Advocacy Program is your chance to become a powerful advocate and activist for the issues you care about.
About the Program
This 10-month online program is designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to drive meaningful change. Whether you’re new to advocacy or looking to sharpen your skills, the Youth Advocacy Program provides a supportive and engaging environment to help you succeed.
Program Dates: February to December 2025
Commitment: 2-5 hours per month, including interactive core sessions lasting 1.5–3 hours

Participants will:

Program Highlights
Delivery:
Sessions are conducted online via Zoom, utilizing interactive, youth-centered methods for maximum engagement. Small group work and virtual meet-ups complement the structured curriculum.

- Self-care for advocates
- Advocacy 101: The foundations of creating change
- Your Rights: Understanding your legal rights as an advocate
- Building an Advocacy Plan: A 9-step guide to effective planning
- Navigating Government: Understanding roles, processes, and decision-making structures
- Influencing Decision-Makers: Strategies to make an impact
- Communicating Your Advocacy: How to raise awareness and share your message
Additional topics will be tailored to participants’ interests and needs.
Who Should Apply?
No prior advocacy or activism experience is required. If you are:
- Between the ages of 13-24
- Living in Canada
- Passionate about advocacy and creating change
- Available to commit 2-5 hours per month from February to December
