Applications Now Open for the 2026 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery: Your Chance to Secure a U.S. Green Card (There is NO fee to enter)

The Diversity Visa (DV) Program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is an annual program that makes 55,000 immigrant visas available to individuals from countries with historically low immigration rates to the United States. For the DV-2026 program, eligible applicants can apply for a chance to live, work, and study in the U.S. permanently.

What is the Diversity Visa Program?

The U.S. Department of State administers the Diversity Visa Program under Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). The program’s goal is to diversify the immigrant population in the U.S. by selecting applicants from countries with low rates of immigration. Each year, a set number of visas are distributed among six geographic regions, with no more than 7% of visas going to any one country.

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible for the DV-2026 Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Country of Origin: You must be a native of a country that has sent fewer than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the past five years. Countries ineligible for the DV-2026 program include (but are not limited to) India, China, Mexico, and Canada. A full list of eligible and ineligible countries is available on the official website.
  • Education or Work Experience: Applicants must have either a high school diploma (or equivalent) or two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training.
