Course Overview:
This course introduces participants to the challenges of digital inclusion, the consequences of digital divides, and the opportunities towards inclusive and equitable digital transformation.
Requirements:

- Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field or have a minimum of three years of experience in digital inclusion-related topics.
- Possess a fluent level of English.
- Government officials and policymakers from developing countries, particularly women, are encouraged to apply.
Learning Outcomes:

- Identify key concepts within social inclusion frameworks.
- Assess how the digital divide impacts vulnerable groups.
- Recognize how research and evaluation can support the analysis of digital divides.
Training Course Contents:
Week 1: A Bird’s Eye View of the Divide: Social Inclusion and Digitalisation
- Key Learning Points: Conceptualizing digital inclusion, inequality, and vulnerability
Week 2: Disentangling Data for Digital Inclusion: How can we evaluate gaps?
- Key Learning Points: Interpreting digital divides using data
Week 3: Intersections between Technology and Development
- Key Learning Points: Overview of technological gaps at different levels
Week 4: Governance for Inclusion: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities
- Key Learning Points: Understanding governance of digital technology
Evaluation and Grading:
- Participants are graded based on four unit exams, an individual policy memo, and participation in tutorials and discussion boards.
- The final grade is the weighted average of all graded components.
