This fully funded fellowship supports their development, empowering them to tackle some of the greatest challenges of our time, from climate change and inequality to global governance and social justice.
The Importance of U.S.-Asia Exchange
As we face profound structural shifts in geopolitics, the global economy, and social dynamics, fostering strong ties between the U.S. and Asia is crucial. LeadNext equips emerging leaders with the international networks, experiences, and leadership tools needed to navigate and shape the future. By bridging cultures and disciplines, the program ensures that the next generation of leaders is prepared to lead with thoughtfulness and effectiveness.
A Comprehensive Leadership Journey
LeadNext Fellows embark on a transformative journey that begins with an intensive leadership training program in February and March 2025. During this time, participants meet regularly to build competencies in social change leadership, enhance self-awareness, and learn to elevate their impact. Collaboration and exchange are key, as fellows work together to deepen their understanding of global citizenship and share insights from their diverse backgrounds.
From March to June 2025, the program introduces fellows to global experts who share real-world experiences in addressing 21st-century issues. This phase equips participants with the skills and frameworks needed to analyze and influence the policies and ecosystems driving social change in both the U.S. and Asia.
The program culminates in a capstone convening in the San Francisco Bay Area during the week of July 14, 2025. Here, fellows will continue their leadership development, engage in rigorous exchanges, and explore innovative approaches to addressing global challenges. Each fellow is paired with a professional mentor, offering a unique opportunity to connect with influential leaders and gain personalized guidance.
Who Should Apply?
LeadNext is seeking dynamic emerging leaders from any sector who are committed to creative approaches to addressing pressing global issues like climate change, inequality, and poverty. Ideal candidates are those who demonstrate outstanding character, integrity, and leadership within their communities and have a strong interest in cross-cultural exchange.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
– Aged 18-25 during the entire program year.
– Fully conversant in English.
– Able to commit to attending all sessions, understanding that virtual sessions will accommodate time zones across Asia and the United States.
