Programme Overview
Fellows will embark on a five-month period of research at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, focusing on their own projects related to Islamic culture, civilisation, and contemporary Muslim societies within a global context. This fellowship provides an opportunity to connect with a multidisciplinary group of scholars, participate in discussions on key issues related to the Islamic world, and contribute to sustained dialogue within the global academic community.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the Chevening OCIS Fellowship, applicants must:
- Demonstrate leadership potential and influence
- Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Philippines, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan
- Return to their country of citizenship at the end of the fellowship
- Hold a postgraduate qualification or have equivalent professional training or experience
- Have at least five years of professional and/or academic research experience
- Possess a good working knowledge of English
- Not hold British or dual-British citizenship
- Not be an employee or relative of an employee of His Majesty’s Government or associated organizations
