Support for African+Women-Led Businesses: Join Her Startup Programme Today
Her Startup is dedicated to overcoming the challenges female founders face in the entrepreneurial landscape by providing a unique blend of training, funding, and mentoring.
Objective
The program aims to guide and invest in African+Women-led early-stage companies with high growth potential in emerging industries.
Program Overview
1. Selection of Applicants
Her Startup will select candidates based on specific criteria:
- Must be an African company
- Female founder or CEO
- Tech-enabled business
- Age between 18-35
- Monthly gross revenue of at least $500
- Unique Value Proposition
- Business operation of at least 6 months
- Maximum 20% of selected companies can be Fintechs
- At least 15% of selected companies must be from Francophone Africa
2. Training
Selected applicants will undergo a rigorous 4-month training through the Founder’s Institute accelerator program. The program will cover training costs and provide an allowance in stages. Successful candidates will receive a certificate and will be eligible to apply for funding.
3. Funding
Post-training, successful graduates of the program will pitch their business models to the Investment Committee for an average funding of $5,000. The funding will be in the form of convertible revenue-based financing.
4. Mentoring
Funded start-ups will benefit from 6 months of mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs and experts, access to co-working spaces, and healthcare coverage for 1 year. This includes monthly meetings and support for ad hoc requests. Performance-based support for additional capital raises may also be provided.
