Join the ASRI Future Leaders Programme 2025

About the Program:

The ASRI Future Leaders programme is a prestigious training programme designed to help young individuals pursue careers in the civil society and government sectors. We are looking for individuals who are socially and politically active in their communities, aged 30 years or younger, and eager to make a positive impact in South Africa.

Key themes covered include

  • the Constitution,
  • governance,
  • leadership,
  • public policy,
  • NGOs and civil society,
  • political philosophy,
  • economics,
  • ethics, and values.

Programme Structure

The programme will run for 4 months from February to May, with participants required to attend Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 3:00pm at our offices in Parktown, Johannesburg. Upon completion of the training, participants have the option to undertake a 3-month externship at a relevant organization, with the possibility of extension for high performers.

Upon completion of the programme, participants are encouraged to remain active within the ASRI alumni network, where they will receive mentorship and support throughout their careers.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the programme, applicants

  • must have a record of community and leadership experience,
  • hold at least an undergraduate degree or diploma,
  • be able to commit to the training schedule,
  • be under 30 years of age,
  • and hold South African citizenship or residency.

Closing Dates and Interviews

Applications close on 6th September 2024, with interviews scheduled for October and November.

The programme will begin on 3rd February 2025. If you are selected for an interview, be prepared to provide proof of your qualifications.
