ThinkYoung is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people globally by involving them in decision-making and providing valuable research on youth conditions. With 12 years of experience, ThinkYoung has positively impacted over 800,000 young individuals through various programs and offices in Brussels, Geneva, Hong Kong, and Nairobi.
Google.org supports nonprofits addressing humanitarian challenges with data-driven solutions. They provide funding, products, and technical expertise, focusing on education, economic opportunity, inclusion, and crisis response.
Hackathon Details:
Prize Pool: €300,000 in cash and prizes
Objective: Develop scalable solutions to combat election disinformation and improve voting accessibility.
Support: Winners receive mentorship and acceleration from Google.org and ThinkYoung partners.

Note: 70% of the grants will be assigned before the Acceleration Programme, and 30% will be assigned at the end of the programme.
Selection Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria, with a maximum of 5 points awarded for each category:
- Significance:
- How well does the project address election disinformation or voting barriers?
- Does it provide specific solutions, tools, or strategies to tackle these issues?
- Is the project expected to have a lasting impact beyond its immediate scope and timeframe?
- Innovation:
- Is the project innovative within the European context?
- Does it introduce new and creative approaches or techniques to tackle misinformation and enhance voting?
- How original and out-of-the-box are the proposed solutions?
- Technological Aspects:
- What technology is leveraged in the project?
- How does the design, functionality, and infrastructure support the solution?
- Special attention will be given to projects that incorporate AI elements, although this is not mandatory.
- Team:
- Does your team have the capacity and expertise to execute the project effectively?
- How well does the team work together to achieve top results?
- The team should possess a diverse skill set, including nonprofit impact, project management, political and media experience, and technology management.
- Scalability:
- Can the project be replicated on a larger scale with ease?
- What is the overall technical, financial, and social feasibility of the project?
- How specific and feasible are the financial and timing considerations for scaling?
